The Office of Career Development

Welcome to the Office of Career Development.  As a member of the Naropa community, you are likely called to our mission to "meet the world as it is and change it for the better."  The Office of Career Development is here to help you step into this vision.  We are committed to assisting you in making good academic and career decisions and finding meaningful ways to engage in service within your community.  Career development begins with identifying what resonates with your deepest levels of integrity.  It means following your heart, your intuition, and your calling. It means finding your unique contribution to the world and moving in that direction with commitment, purpose, and dedication.  We are here to help you:

  • Explore your interests, values, skills and strengths
  • Learn how to access your whole self in your career decision making process
  • Cultivate confidence and trust in your career journey
  • Identify potential academic and career paths
  • Identify and engage in service and volunteer opportunities
  • Develop internship and job search strategies
  • Plan your graduate school or other educational application process
  • Learn to write effective cover letters and resumes
  • Prepare for the interview process

Schedule a Career Counseling Appointment

Martha Utchenik, is our career counselor intern.  She comes with 20 years of experience as a counselor in private practice, working with clients in all types of life transition.  Martha’s approach to counseling is humanistic, existential, and strengths-based, and she has expertise working with people with chronic illnesses, pain syndromes, and invisible conditions (TBIs, etc.).  Martha works on the Arapahoe and Paramita campuses. Martha is on the Arapahoe Campus, Wulsin Hall, in the Learning Commons, Room 5243, on Thursdays and Fridays.  She is on the Paramita Campus in Room 1351 on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Click on the link to make an appointment.  You may have to copy and paste the link into your browser.
