Higher Learning Commission Mark of Affiliation

Naropa University was first accredited in 1986, and the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) re-affirmed Naropa University's accreditation in July 2015, following a self-study and comprehensive review by a national team of evaluators who certified that Naropa is meeting standards for quality and accountability.

Naropa University prepared a self-study report to demonstrate that Naropa continues to maintain the high educational standards set by the Higher Learning Commission. The self-study process provided an invaluable opportunity to examine institutional practices while citing examples of excellence, the challenges ahead, and action steps leading to improvement.

It provided a review of Naropa's commitment to the following areas:

  1. Mission
  2. Integrity: Ethical and Responsible Conduct
  3. Teaching and Learning: Quality, Resources, and Support
  4. Teaching and Learning: Evaluation and Improvement
  5. Resources, Planning, and Institutional Effectiveness

In compiling the 2015 self-study, Naropa was committed to an inclusive, transparent process facilitated by communications among faculty, staff, students, stakeholders, and the public--in person, in print, and via the Web. Naropa strongly encouraged interested parties to attend working sessions to offer suggestions and provide comments.
